Carnage (2011)

Imagine this situation. Two kids. You are hanging out and joking around, just ... joking around. You both laugh, and you go on and on ... until that one point when one of you says the wrong thing or behaves the wrong way. Communication is a very complex thing. One wrong interpretation and a joke might feel like a mean insult. From that moment mood has ultimately changed the extreme and usually both parties then act the way that will only feed the conflict from there as both insist on their point of view. You may end up in violence and carnage or a little fight at least.
(Those of you who have brothers or sisters might know this kind of situation.)

Now take this and tranfer it to our four mature adults in Roman Polanski's new film.

Magnolia (1999)

Strange coincidences open up a to a movie that is one of my all-time favorites. Rarely ever has a film affected me so much and made me think about chance and life. It was also coincidence when I discovered this film years ago.

Sherlock Holmes (2009)

This is not the only example of a classic literaric figure or story that is taken out of the original context and put into an over-the-top action setting. Sometimes this ambition fails (lately: The three musketeers) or - as in this case - actually works out.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

ZERO STARS

I was never a fan of Transformers before the movies. I was not a fan of the first part to say the least.
But compared to "Revenge of the fallen" the predecessor was more than acceptable.
